The Idea for an Auction Platform came from years of research. We discovered that the art market does not cater to the artist. We wanted to create a market place that answers all the questions artists may have in the sales process. More and more artists are starting to become their own galleries. There are many sites where work can sit static and collectors and clients may come to visit and make an occasional purchase. What we realized is that there is little pressure to purchase. The Auction timed feature creates the pressure and makes the purchasing fun for the art buyer. Starting the site was no easy task. It came from years of analyzing major art fairs and gallery operations. Shipping and payment seem to be serious issues. We partner with SHIPSTATION to both help calculate shipping costs for the buyers as well as print labels through UPS, FED EX and DHL. For payment process we partner with STRIPE and PAYMENTGATEWAY which allows immediate transactions from credit cards to bank accounts and protects both the sellers and buyers. The timed feature is controlled by the seller which may be set at any length of time. The buyer pays no additional costs, no buyers premium or fees and pays for door to door shipping costs. The Seller pays a subscription to use the service. We have made signing up to use ARTAUCTION.IO easy for galleries, resellers and artists. We believe in open communication and allow free messaging on every item posted between the buyers and sellers. The system is made simple and easy for buyers and sellers alike.
